I was educated at the Scuola Normale Superiore in Pisa and at New York University. After my PhD, I held postdoctoral fellowhips at the Collège de France (Fondazione Sapegno-Collège de France fellowship) and at Harvard University (Lauro de Bosis Visiting Postdoctoral Fellowship). Subsequently I was also EURIAS Fellow at the University of Bologna and visiting professor at the University of Geneva and the University of Bologna. I have taught at University College London since 2012, first as Lecturer in Modern and Contemporary Italian Literature (2012-2017), now as Associate Professor in Italian Studies.
